Dear Maintainer,
Fresh install with the default kde-desktop task, the SDDM doesn't show a
background (which I assume would be the official artwork). Just a white screen.

I have the same problem and it didn't go away.
Using the version from testing solved the problem.
Using the version from sid and the problem reappeared.
Strace showed the message ACCESS DENIED on ~/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf.
Now, I'm using the version from testing.
