Your issue sounds that a Akonadi Resource is stuck.

before the issue happen, so see if the needed jobs/notifications are triggerd.

editor now also have KUserFeedback in Debian (unstable).
Like in Kate it is off by default. You need to go to Settings_>Configure
in order to enable it.
