FYI: New digikam packages just showed up some hours ago.

Maybe don't (normally) use dist-upgrade?

The normal/safe- upgrade is all you need in 99% of cases.
That sometimes, like in this case, means you have to wait a couple of days
longer. If after say a week it still shows a bunch of un-upgraded packages,
then you can try out (-s = simulate) whether an dist/full-upgrade is actually
needed. It often is an indication that the package metadata is suboptimal.

It has baffled me for years now that people seem to default to using dist-
upgrade. I'm using Sid as my daily driver for ~ a decade now.

Simply rebuilding digikam against 21.08.0 on their own for those who can not
wait is more a time consuming than a difficult task ;-).

It wasn't my intention to imply that your experience was unusual;
Martin's reply indicates the problem is known, and a solution will
present in a day or two.

Rather, that *my* experience is the unusual one.

Digikam and 4:21

2021-08-27 Thread MERLIN Philippe
Hello,
the update from Kde 4:20 to 4:21 removes the digikam
software,
in my case blocks the installation of this new version.
My question is the following: is there a foreseeable date
of an update of digikam compatible with the 4:21?

Weird; I updated KDE/Plasma and digikam was not removed here. Still
installed and (just checking) it still runs.

There is a warning about 2 shortcuts for Alt+Ctrl+I during startup of
digikam, but that's not relevant to this issue.

Norbert requested a binNMU, i.e. a rebuilt, see bug #992948.

Once the release team gets to it and the builds are through it should be
installable again.

Just wait a bit more.
