Hi Frank, hi Boris I have dig a bit around this issue. For me, only rules with title-matching criteria fails to apply to newly created windows. Other rules does work as intended. I have found two upstream bug reports: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=207670 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=217123 they were eventually marked as duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=207670 As I think #207670 is not a case here, I have filed new bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=303185 Can you confirm that this problem occurs only to specific rules that tries to match window title? You may post additional information to upstream bug report, if you find this appropriate. Since I don't know if you are subscribed to this list, I have CC-ed you. Sorry if this was unnecessary. Not newly created only, It happened (yes, past) when something happened to windows, like title or size changed. Other rules does work as intended. Hi, I appreciate the hard work of the Debian KDE maintainers and want to say a big Thank You! I think since Qt was upgraded to version 4.8.1 on Debian/sid I have the small problem that special window/application settings are ignored. For instance, I have a setting to prevent drawing the window decoration (to save desktop space) of 'konsole'. Hi Frank I can only say that I have encountered that, too. I know that we are in the middle of KDE rebuild/transaction (and newer python- qt4 causes plasma desktop to segfault), so it may be matter of waiting until all packages are rebuilt and uploaded. Although I am no Debian Developer, I can only suggest to wait some time - if problem won't magically disappear in next few days, then it might be good idea to file a bug report - against kwin, perhaps (as kwin is responsible for visibility of window decorations). -- Best regards Mirosław Zalewski Ps.
