I am filing this bug against 2.6.8-2 since that's the focus for
sarge, but it affects all 2.6 kernels older than 2.6.10.
If I attempt to boot with a Plextor 48/24/48U PX-W4824TU USB 2.0 cd
writer attached to my system I get a

Package: initrd-tools
Version: 0.1.77
when installing the initrd-tools it finishes with some errors in post-install.
It seems som files are missing:

/etc/mkinitrd/modules
/etc/default/initrd-tools.sh
/etc/init.d/initrd-tools.sh

oi,
I myself have been a victim of this too, so I thought I'd join in.
The problem seems somehow related to the 2.6.8 kernel, XFS and software
raid1. I've seen the corruption on three machines now (including Joost's)
and in all cases:
- the kernel was Debian's 2.6.8;
- the filesystem in
Title: workaround
here is a little workaround:
dpkg-deb -x initrd-tools-0.1.77.dep some_dir
cp -r some_dir/etc /
apt-get install initrd-tools
at least it's working for me and it shows the files are inside
the package but they have not been installed.

I am trying to replace a PC running the above kernel and I need the kernel

2.4.27-2. There is some custom hardware that has been tested with the
above kernel and I do not want to have to repeat the tests with 2.4.27-2.

Hello,
I also noticed this error with my br0 interface. I cannot simply restart or
poweroff my computer because it hangs when bringing down networking. It's
really troublesome.
But I'm wondering If it's really problem with kernel. When my network was not
used too much I was testing this problem
