I've launched a command to remove a massive amount of file on an usb
disk. Roughly speaking ~20 files for ~ 10Gb of data.
The command worked fine for several minutes, but now the rm process is
stuck:

despite the best intentions of debian i am convinced that most users will
not read the release notes and over the lifetime of the etch release
having large ammounts (just how much is needed to trigger this bug btw) of
memory will become more and more common.

And just for completeness, I want to add that the patch works nicely. drbd8
and ocfs2 can be used together with no visible side-effects.
If anybody of the kernel team has time to add this, it would help admins
trying to create highly available file systems.

it. Next time you see it on screen, please take a photo with a digital
