FYI, I just installed the coming new 2.6.21 kernel image, and it wouldn't boot.

linux-2.6/experimental built. s390 and sparc are built in the snapshots.
This left alpha, hppa, ia64, mips and mipsel where builds are needed.

I've tested with a vanilla kernel 2.6.21 and still have problems with
the USB external disks. So I've logged a bug in buzilla:

When running under 2.6.21-2 in testing, the 3c509x network card
intermittently locks up after a few hours.
