i second that. CONFIG_PROC_EVENTS available when CONFIG_CONNECTOR=y is
needed by bootchart2 for which i opened an RFP [1]. Having the default
debian kernel working out of the box would help a lot.

portion of this problem (there may still be outstanding issues with ipconfig).
