I installed firmware-linux-nonfree to get GPU acceleration with a ATI Radeon
graphic card. I tried to assign a display ICC color profile to the LCD monitor
with Gnome color manager 3.2.2-2 with no success.

The Fedora 16 kernel 3.2.10-3.fc16 has patches that should reduce the
memory requirements of the old id mapper. The relevant changelog entry is:

verified it on the 3.3-rc6 kernel from experimental.

The "Auto-Mute Mode" setting persists across reboots. See
/etc/init.d/alsa-utils for details.
