I’ve observed the same behaviour on my zx2000, but not on my rx2620 on which I
was able to install wheezy without issue several months ago. Given that my
2620 only has two Madison 9Ms in it, I don’t think this is a CPU
instruction/feature set issue but an Kernel/EFI interaction related one.
Well, I finally found some workaround to that problem. I figured that
the problem is with the USB bridge. It appears that the kernel can't
deal this bridge. Maybe because it is a USB 3.0 SuperSpeed or it
something to do with the ASMEDIA ASM1051 chip.

Hello,
I got a black screen with wheezy 3.2.55 kernel on a HP G62 Notebook,
but the issue is resolved in kernel 3.12.9.
Could you test the attached patch with kernel 3.2.55 that adds the
invert brightness quirk?
It seems that adding the quirk is the way to deal with this issue
with older kernel
Boot hangs for me right after selecting the option from grub, the system

Hi,
See http://unix.stackexchange.com/a/115921/4671
I'm trying to backport 3.13 to wheezy, using instructions in the kernel
handbook, namely
http://kernel-handbook.alioth.debian.org/ch-common-tasks.html#s4.2.5.
The main stumbling block seems to be (so far) that gcc 4.8 is
required, indeed

Where should I report this? Details follow.
