Presing the light up / light down keys doesn't modify the LCD
screen brightness.
Directly writing to /sys/class/backlight/panasonic/brightness has the
same effect : nothing.

I just tried with 2.6.34, and it doesn't work either:
* in GNOME, pressing the light up/down keys trigger the little gnome
on-screen display showing a supposed brightness change, but the screen
brightness in unchanged
* in console mode, pressing these keys
