Package: kernel-image-2.4.18-1-i686
Version: 2.4.18-13.1

Ref: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CAN-2004-0554

"Linux kernel 2.4.2x and 2.6.x for x86 allows local users to cause a
denial of service (system crash), possibly via an infinite loop that
triggers a signal handler with a certain sequence of fsave and frstor
instructions, as originally demonstrated using a "crash.c" program."

According to http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/10566, 2.4.18 is vulnerable.
(I also find that it is, although the CAN only mentions kernels 2.4.2x and
above.)

I can't see that this issue has been resolved, although it has been in
most other distributions for a while.

I apologise if this is in error, but browsing debian.org, including
list archives, for information on status yields nothing.

Regards,
Sigmund Straumsnes
