I just noticed a similar issue, maybe related to this bug, on my Dell
Studio 1555.
I'm using debian/testing.
When I close and then open the lid:
- On X: the screen just shows a piece of garbled pixels whose some of
them are blinking;
- On a TTY: the console seem to go back in history
