Comparing the packets sent between the DHCP client and server, I notice
that the latest kernel sets the DHCP 'secs' field. The DHCP server,

So I went ahead and did
downloaded the KDE version, and on booting the DVD got to the KDE
desktop with no problems at all. (I would need to update the list of
screen resolutions to get the aspect ratio right, but no big deal, and

No, I haven't tried it since I've been tied up on other things
without a hitch.
Having Debian running as a guest OS makes it trivial to switch between
systems without any dual-booting hassles.

descriptor by write(2). Here's a minimal test case:

For the record, new 21.5 iMacs use Broadcom 57765, which is on your
list as not supported. So this appears to be a serious problem for
installing on these machines (which will be numerous!)
