Excellent. Please try 2.6.32-36 from snapshot.debian.org, or the
latest from git://kernel.ubuntu.com/smb/linux-2.6.32.y-drm33.z.git if
you have time to build from source.

i've got a machine with a similar card that exhibits the problem, and can now
run tests for more information, if needed.

tested with the versions from sid and wheezy, and those seem to work fine.

That means nouveau_gem_pushbuf_validate returned -ENOMEM, which means

Thanks much for this.

didn't get a chance to test 2.6.32-36 or 3.1 series. i'll try and reproduce
the problem on another box that isn't in production to get more information.

Great --- looking forward to it.

Sincerely,
Jonathan

X.org responds excruciatingly slowly to the point of being un-useable.

Downgrading to 2.6.32-35squeeze2 from security.debian.org fixes the problem.

Thanks. I assume 2.6.32-36 has the same trouble, and that 3.1.y
kernels do not?

Please attach dmesg output and /var/log/Xorg.0.log content from booting
a good and a bad kernel.
