https://kernel-team.pages.debian.net/kernel-handbook/ch-common-tasks.html#s-common-official
says to use, for example…

$ fakeroot make -f debian/rules.gen binary-indep_amd64_none_real

… to get the -common package, but this doesn’t. You (also?) need:

$ fakeroot make -f debian/rules.gen binary-indep_none_real

Otherwise thanks for the excellent documentation to (re‑)build the
Debian kernel with minimal changes, switching HZ to 1000 for this
example.

I had one problem changing the ABI following
https://kernel-team.pages.debian.net/kernel-handbook/ch-versions.html#s-abi-name

I first set it to 14.kHz and…
$ fakeroot debian/rules debian/control-real
… passed, but then the build complained about a regex, quickly
confirmed to be the upper-case letter. The debian/control-real
target could, ideally, already check this.

(That being said, OT, but which (probably good, I’m sure) reason
is there to use 250 Hz by default?)

bye,
