I've tried KMS since about 2.6.30. I've seen support improved for each new
kernel version (each new rc for 2.6.31), however suspend-to-disk has always
problems.
With older kernel version, KMS and
(ie since my bug report), I had no problem at all
(with many many suspend-resume cycles)
KMS should improve a lot before we use it by default.
