Hello FTP masters! My understanding is that 4 times a day, dak checks for package description translations on DDTP, and it sends us those unhappy messages whenever something wrong happens with ddtp-i18n-check.sh [1]. The return of the Arf Arf messages closely follows some changes I made to DDTP's daily update script, in an attempt to make it faster. I believe it's probably related, but I can't really make sense of it yet. For instance, DDTP's daily update finished this morning at 10:28 UTC+2, so I don't understand how dak could be happy at 15:52 UTC+2 but not anymore at 21:52 UTC+2. Would you have more info about what is wrong? Also, would it be OK if I proposed a merge request changing the wording of the error messages? I don't find them very actionable. This produces big error logs which filled the disk space. The update script has been disabled for now, which explains why the FTP Masters' script is unhappy. Andrey and I have already a solution to fix this issue which I am currently testing. Everything should come back to normal in a few days. You're right. I don't think I have the rights to do this, so I posted a comment asking to put the MR in WIP until the encoding issue is fixed. > And if it's ready, let's announce it here so the language coordinators > can ping their respective language teams and start translating/reviewing > in the new instance. [Debian-l10n-devel] ddtp2.d.n down again but that's ok!
Hello all, We were planning to send you a message tonight announcing that we would be migrating the DDTSS service next weekend, with a proper timeline, etc. but ddtp2.d.n tried to catch us by surprise and went down again. Luckily, I have retrieved the last available version of the database backup yesterday evening, so that means that at worst we don't have the last day of contributions on DDTSS (I don't know at what time DB daily backups are prepared). So, what I propose to you instead is that we start the migration process tonight and let you know when ddtp.d.o is ready to be used (hopefully tomorrow morning). I believe a manual action is needed (ping Martijn :)). > BTW we're still getting th emails "Lisa..." but I don't know why, > ddtp2.debian.net is up and working, at least from the translators PoV... The "Lisa" messages basically say that FTP masters fail to find new translations where they should normally be located. Last time we had a similar recurring issue (around november 2016), it was related to some incorrect rsync parameters. I just asked on #debian-ftp how we can identify the current problem and fix it.
