There's a pretty good chance that the chip is soldered onto the motherboard. Have you opened up the laptop to check if the video controller is removable? Check B&B Computers in Toronto, ON, Canada. Phone #: (416) 657-2552. They stock all kinds of used notebooks as well as parts. They do repairs too. And they export to other countries. There is also one other place I know of in Toronto, called A-1 Electronics, although they are more of a laptop graveyard (no guarantee the stuff you get there even works). You might have to call them directly as I don't think I've ever seen specific laptop parts on the site other than things like power adapters and such. Or they might have a dead 3800 they could sell you cheap. --cro
