'Don' Tommy, This list is about linux, a different operating system than microsoft windows. We have problems with linux as well, especially on laptops; but we aren't expected to handle questions about XP. It's the sense of a mailing list to stick on one main topic. Please try to ask your question on a windows-list; I'm sure there are quite a lot of them. Or perhaps you find someone in your neighbourhood who can show you what exactly to do. That's your problem, you're using a Microsoft product. Do a fresh clean Debian install and everything should work just fine.
