I am the maintainer of prelude software, a *Hybrid IDS:

The new release (0.9.x) create a new library: libpreludedb.
I package it, but it was rejected due to issue on the understatning of
the licence.
So I ask for your understanding...

You didnt mention that it includes LGPLed works in the source tarball.

Endianess is the dispute on which end to open an egg at.
Just say that it is licensed under the GPL and say that if you want to
use it in proprietary stuff then pay for a license.
e.g.
this program is free software - you can redistribute and/or modify it
etc etc.
If you want to use libpreludedb in a proprietary application contact
us for a license.
