Here is what I get today, after an upgrade to perl 5.10.x, running
lintian on a *.changes file:
$ lintian ocaml-res_2.2.5-1_i386.changes
Can't use string (1) as an ARRAY ref while strict refs in use at
/usr/share/lintian/checks/menus line

Something fairly fundamental appears to have changed about the handling
of variable aliasing and subroutine calls that breaks Getopt::Long with
