I don't like the tar change (I mean the change in tar, not necessarily
the change in lintian). The current solution will make lintian unusable
with older tar versions, which is a step futher than the perl library
backports needed so far.

I believe the change in tar behaviour is gratious, and will break not
only lintian, but also all kinds of sysadmin scripts and stuff like
that.

Now, from a lintian POV, there's not much we can do about it, so I have
no objections to uploading as it is now.

Eh, I later read on -devel that this is actually not the case -- I
tested this in testing and the testlab totally failed, but I might have
misinterpreted this failure -- indeed, it turned out that I simply
didn't have cdbs installed.

Yeah, I was worried about that too but then went back and checked
changelogs and became less worried.
