Processes for new maintainer and upstream

I have just filed an ITA on 9wm (#660496) It has been orphaned for a while and in that time the old upstream sadly passed away. A new upstream has popped up and continues to maintain the package. Is there any special process I need to follow here because upstream changed? Thanks, Jacob
