Bug#851606: RFS: rmlint/2.4.6-1 [ITP]
Dear Roger, Thanks for your suggestions. I have made the fixes and re-uploaded the source files as the same version (since it still has yet to be officially released) to mentors. I have applied for access to collab-maint (just a few minutes ago), so I probably won't be able to push my changes for another 24 hours. For the meantime, my changes are available in the debian branch of https://github.com/e7appew/rmlint.git. This is the updated RFS: I am looking for a sponsor for my package "rmlint" * Package name: rmlint Version : 2.4.6-1 Upstream Author : Christopher Pahl* URL : https://rmlint.readthedocs.io/ * License : GPL-3 Section : utils It builds these binary packages: rmlint - Extremely fast tool to remove filesystem lint rmlint-doc - HTML documentation for rmlint rmlint-gui - GTK+ frontend to rmlint To access further information about this package, please visit the following URL: https://mentors.debian.net/package/rmlint Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command: dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/r/rmlint/rmlint_2.4.6-1.dsc More information about rmlint can be obtained from https://rmlint.readthedocs.io/. Changes since the last upload: rmlint (2.4.6-1) unstable; urgency=medium * Initial upload to Debian. Thanks to Axel Beckert for getting it all started, and to Roger Shimizu for suggested improvements. Bug#849493: RFS: vc/1.3.0-1 [ITP]
[ re-sending, as I screwed up the CC, sorry to those will receive the duplicated ] Note: I won't sponsor this package, as for a policy I don't sponsor NEW packages for people without a track of previous contributions. Well, RFPs have no "owner". It's just somebody saying "pretty please could somebody package this and upload to the archive". > Ubuntu just released a new version of vc (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/ > +source/vc/1.3.0-0ubuntu1). This could be reused by Debian. Yes. As the person who sponsored that upload to Ubuntu, I wouldn't have done so if the RFP (that I found) was a ITP, as uploading it to Ubuntu would have been a clear duplication of work. Also the RFS should be marked as a blocker of the ITP, but the automated tool doing that doesn't act on RFP packages (correctly…) > Aleksey, are you still working towards this RFS? If yes, you may take a look > at this Ubuntu package. If not, please disown and close this bug (#849493). Well, I can tell you that the package in Ubuntu now is perfect to be uploaded as it is, in particular the package at mentors is worse in the following points: * Section of the binary should be libdevel, not libs * copyright is incomplete * missing watchfile * spurious .directory files from Dolphin (?!?) * the synopsis is very poor * dh compat 9 instead of 10 > Still I think the name "vc" and "vc-dev" should be acceptable. Changing into > other name will cause split between Debian and all Ubuntu derivatives. aye, they are short, but given it's already in a Ubuntu it can't really be ignored. -- regards, Mattia Rizzolo GPG Key: 66AE 2B4A FCCF 3F52 DA18 4D18 4B04 3FCD B944 4540 .''`. more about me: https://mapreri.org : :' : Launchpad user: https://launchpad.net/~mapreri `. `'` Debian QA page: https://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=mattia `- signature.asc Description: PGP signature
Bug#854693: (kein Betreff)
just to add some advertisement for this package: tslib had been part of wheezy and only recently got development attention. Having tslib in Debian again would improve Debian for embedded. Debian is great, not only for "rapid prototyping", and sometimes devices' touch screens need tslib. thanks martin
