I built the package locally, but I did not get it working correctly
With a YouTube URL. It downloads nothing.
Could you please provide a url for test so I can make sure
it is working?

I will look into this problem later.

Bug#881118: Second review

2018-02-21 Thread Julien Puydt
Hi,

I saw you updated things ; I'm now looking at commit:
 37dffbaabe6dae7f45a4f5a8edca1f7cc18aabe7

It looks better, but :
- debhelper compat might be 10 ;
- standards-version should be 4.1.3 ;
- the Vcs-* fields you added should point to salsa ;
- debian/copyright would need to be thoroughly reviewed (looks old).

I suggest you try:
lintian -I boost-numeric-bindings_0.99-1_amd64.changes

and try to make it only output:
  I: boost-numeric-bindings source: testsuite-autopkgtest-missing

Cheers,

Snark on #debian-science

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "wxmaxima"

 * Package name: wxmaxima
   Version : 18.02.0-2
   Upstream Author : Andrej Vodopivec
 * URL : http://andrejv.github.io/wxmaxima/
 * License : GPL
   Section : math

It builds those binary packages:

wxmaxima - GUI for the computer algebra system Maxima

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/wxmaxima

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/w/wxmaxima/wxmaxima_18.02.0-2.dsc

wxMaxima is a powerful GUI for Maxima, a computer Algebra System
that allows to do symbolic maths as well as maths with floating-point
and arbitrary-length numbers.

One example:
(%i1)   y=sin(x);
(%o1)   y=sin(x)
(%i2)   solve(%,x);
solve: using arc-trig functions to get a solution.
Some solutions will be lost.
(%o2)   [x=asin(y)]

More information about wxmaxima can be obtained from
http://andrejv.github.io/wxmaxima/.

Changes since the last upload:

  "Search and replace" was broken if "Match Case" wasn't selected and
  the new string differed in length from the old one.

Hello!

Since this is causing troubles in Ubuntu (Matthias, please give your opinion
here),
because dietlibc is in main, and gives also troubles to maintain the list of
dietlibc
architectures where it is available, since it causes troubles using dietlibc
(the build seems failing), I would prefer to actually implement it again once
dietlibc folks
makes the whole stuff *working*.

Right now the approach is not usable, and makes things harder for Ubuntu and
Debian.
(e.g. in Ubuntu we should conditionalize and remove it, with something like
if dpkg-vendor --derives-from Ubuntu; then

HAVE_DIETLIBC=nofi

but even in that case, the pulling of build-dependencies from universe will
cause mismatches in the
archive.

I would prefer a patch from dietlibc folks, with an use case of *why* they need
this static library,
rather than building/including something that caused 4 bugs in Debian, a lot of
pain in Ubuntu
(and probably was even broken).

The other stuff looks good to me :)

What is your opinion? I would like to understand why we need this, and if this
had even worked.

G.

Bug#891005: RFS: gdbm/1.14.1-5

2018-02-21 Thread Dmitry Bogatov

Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: wishlist

!Important! This upload re-enables diet libc support {conditional, via
build profiles}. Input from developers, experienced with Debian
bootstrap is very, very welcome.

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "gdbm"

* Package name : gdbm
  Version  : 1.14.1-5
  Upstream Author  : bug-g...@gnu.org
* Url  : https://gnu.org/software/gdbm
* Licenses : GPL-3+,GFDL-1.3+
  Programming Lang : C
  Section  : libs

 GNU dbm ('gdbm') is a library of database functions that use extendible
 hashing and works similarly to the standard UNIX 'dbm' functions.
 .
 The basic use of 'gdbm' is to store key/data pairs in a data file, thus
 providing a persistent version of the 'dictionary' Abstract Data Type
 ('hash' to perl programmers).

It builds those binary packages:

  * libgdbm5
  * gdbm-l10n
  * libgdbm-dev
  * gdbmtool
  * libgdbm-compat4
  * libgdbm-compat-dev

This package succesfully builds on debomatic machine:

  https://debomatic-i386.debian.net/distribution#unstable/gdbm/1.14.1-5

Please note, that package is maintained with dgit(1) tool
using dgit-maint-merge(7) workflow. For more information about how to
sponsor this package, see dgit-sponsorship(7).

  Git repository: https://salsa.debian.org/iu-guest/gdbm.git
  Git branch: master

With /bin/sh following commands should suffice:

  $ git clone https://salsa.debian.org/iu-guest/gdbm.git gdbm
  $ cd gdbm
  $ make -f debian/rules get-orig-source # 'gbp buildpackage' is fine
  $ dgit sbuild

Changes since last upload:

  * Update Vcs-* fields in debian/control.
  * Bump compat version to 11 (no changes needed)
  * Enable dietlibc build, unless pkg.gdbm.nodietlibc profile is in effect.
  * Change section of bin:gdbm-l10n to 'localization'
  * Fix spelling error on manpage
  * Enable large file support

Regards,
  Dmitry Bogatov

Thanks, Sean. It is now located at

I guess someone else has to clone it under the team project folders, so
I created that personal repository first.
