Bug#903810: RFS: xsunpinyin/2.0.3-4 RC

2018-07-18 Thread Boyuan Yang
X-Debbugs-CC: zou...@outlook.com debian-input-met...@lists.debian.org

Hi Gengyu,

I have seen your new RFS but unfortunately you still made several mistakes:

* Please put "RC" mark in subject into "[]" square brankets;

* You wrote a wrong version string that is awaiting sponsorship: "2.0.3-4".
xsunpinyin version 2.0.3-4 is already in Debian unstable thus your RFS is
closed automatically. Please consider fixing this problem and provide with a
correct version (maybe submitting a new RFS request). You also have to fix the
version string in the source package.

What really counts is the actual state, not a bit of documentation. I
raised this issue only because (a bit too late) noticed this transition
might possibly be not what you intended. It's good to hear it was.

No pressing need to amend the changelog, I'd say.

The license is fine, it's just that the removal of centralized license info
upstream might raise the ftpmasters' eyebrows.

Oh, I've missed it.
As you pointed out, it should be -2.0.

gir bump was intentional, but I had missed to describe it into d/changelog.

One notable change in the upstream tarball is that usual licensing files
have just been removed. The meson build file describes the license as
LGPL-2.1+ and sources have SPDX identifiers, though.

As for change to gir1.2-hinawa-2.0 -- I noticed it when debdiffing binaries,
but dismissed it as a part of the package bump (there's a trip through NEW
anyway). Only after uploading, when responding to this bug, I noticed that
this mismatches what you wrote in the RFS. Thus, if the gir bump was not
intentional, please request a REJECT on #debian-ftp (or via mail).

The package has been uploaded as-is and is in NEW.

Could be a missing include.
Perhaps it's as simple as adding this line to logger_impl.cpp:

#include "utils/memory_limit.hpp"

The function declaration for utils::get_max_rss() seems to live there.

Well, it's only for this version, as in the future you won't have

Exactly, 'gbp import-orig --uscan' does not accept '--force'. Thus I'll
probably have to use 'uscan' + 'gbp import'. I expected a single-command
solution, alas.

I don't think that "repack" is necessary here.

I guess uscan needs --force-download (--force also works IME); not
sure if you can pass this via gbp-import-orig or if you need a manual
(1) uscan + (2) 'gbp import-orig --pristine-tar your-new-tarball'.

Source repackaging workflow with git-buildpackage

2018-07-18 Thread Andrius Merkys
Dear Mentors,

I want to remove some files from upstream tarball foo-1.23 (already in Debian)
to produce foo-1.23+ds using git-buildpackage following the recipe posted here
[1]. I have added Files-Excluded stanza to d/copyright and added '
opts="repacksuffix=+ds,dversionmangle=s/\+ds//,repack"' to d/watch. However,
'gbp import-orig --pristine-tar --uscan' does not do anything telling "package
is up to date, nothing to do". How should I proceed?

Many thanks,
Andrius

Control: tags -1 help

Hi,

upstream seems to have dealt with the original issue in the logs of this
bug report in the new upstream version which I commited to Salsa[1].
Unfortunately there is a new issue where I need help from a C++ programmer:
