2019-03-29 Thread eamanu15
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-CC: cave...@debian.org>

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "jcc"

* Package name: jcc
 Version : 3.5-1
 Upstream Author : The Apache Software Foundation
* URL : http://lucene.apache.org/pylucene/jcc/
* License : Apache 2.0
 Section : oldlibs

It builds those binary packages:

  python-jcc - generator for a Python extension from Java classes (Python 2)
python3-jcc - generator for a Python extension from Java classes (Python 3)
jcc - generator for a Python extension from Java classes (transitional)

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

https://mentors.debian.net/package/jcc

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/j/jcc/jcc_3.5-1.dsc

More information about jcc can be obtained from
http://lucene.apache.org/pylucene/jcc/

Changes since the last upload:

  * New upstream version 3.5.
  * New maintainer (Closes: #922568):
- Add myself to Maintainer field on d/control.
  * Bump debhelper to 12 (from 9.2):
- Update debhelper to debhelper-compat on d/control Build-Depends.
  * Update Vcs-* repository to salsa repository.
  * Add myself on debian/* files copyright on d/copyright.

I think it is a good idea for projects in Debian to have active or
responsive upstream projects. It would be great if you could create an
upstream project by contacting the maintainers of the other wordplay
packages in other distros (use repology.org to find them), discussing
with them creating such a project, downloading any old tarballs you
can find, importing all the tarballs into version control, creating an
issue tracker, importing all the distro patches into the version
control etc. Please include Evans A Criswell in any communications
about the new upstream project, just in case they read their email
with lower frequency than expected.

I had a look at the package, but either I'm doing something wrong or
something went wrong in the update from 1.0.18-1 to -2: The diff
(attached) looks kinda unexpected.

Hello,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "wannier90".

* Package name: wannier90
  Version : 2.1.0
  Upstream Author : Mostofi et al.
* URL : http://www.wannier.org
* License : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: Fortran
  Description : maximally localized Wannier functions

It builds these binary packages:
  wannier90- Maximally Localized Wannier Functions - executables
  libwannier90-dev - Maximally Localized Wannier Functions - development files

Relationships with other scientific packages already in Debian:

* abinit: could be linked against wannier90 for Wannier function calculation
* espresso: could be linked against wannier90 instead of a convenience copy
* gpaw: wannier90 executables are used in examples (not installed, though)

The packages are not in the Mentors (due to #901025). The packaging is done in
Salsa repository at https://salsa.debian.org/science-team/wannier90
and can be reviewed there.

The package could be maintained in either Debian Science or DebiChem team.

Many thanks,
Andrius

Hello,

I'm closing the RFS bug now as wannier90 v3.0.0 had been released and
I've already started packaging it in the same VCS repository. Moreover,
I've recently became a DD and I'll be able to upload the package myself.

Best,
Andrius
