Thanks for taking a look at it. I was actually confused with the
names. The previous package coinor-libdylp0 provides
"/usr/lib/libDylp.so.0" linking to "/usr/lib/libDylp.so.0.0.0" and I
think that is the reason the package was named with a '0'. But the
version was wrong. It should have been named
"/usr/lib/libDylp.so.1.6.0" and the package name should have had a '1'
instead of '0'.
But anyway, do you think I should keep the name as "coinor-libdylp0"
instead of moving to "coinor-libdylp1" based on my above mentioned
understanding?

While polishing it, I think I will also push it to salsa, that will
also fix two other lintian warnings.

Hrm, my script for automating bindebdiffs doesn't handle
appearing/disappearing binaries well, making them easy to miss. And I
didn't notice that bit.

Thus: it's fit for re-upload, but generally, it's best for a package for
NEW, even binNEW, to be in a good shape (rather than small incremental
changes which I prefer), thus I wonder if you'd like to polish at least the
changelog first.

In which, mentioning other removed/added binaries is another important bit.

All of your changes seem good.

The changelog is missing an important entry: getting rid of cdbs. That's a
large change that should be noted -- but, getting rid of the blighter is so
nice that I uploaded as-is.

Salsa repository request (dbab)

2019-12-18 Thread Tong Sun
Hi,

I am currently preparing a new version for the 'dbab' packages [0].

I would like to create a packaging repository for it in the Debian
group on Salsa this time [1], but I don't have the necessary
permissions on Salsa to create it myself.

So, could somebody please create it for me and give me, suntong-guest,
maintenance access?

Thank you!

Best regards,

Bug#946965: RFS: sendmail/8.15.2-16 [QA] -- powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent (metapackage)

2019-12-18 Thread David Bürgin
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for a QA upload for package "sendmail"

 * Package name: sendmail
   Version : 8.15.2-16
   Upstream Author : Sendmail, Inc.
 * URL : http://www.sendmail.org
 * License : other-Sendmail
 * Vcs : https://salsa.debian.org/debian/sendmail
   Section : mail

It builds those binary packages:

  sendmail-bin - powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent
  rmail - MTA->UUCP remote mail handler
  sensible-mda - Mail Delivery Agent wrapper
  libmilter1.0.1 - Sendmail Mail Filter API (Milter)
  libmilter-dev - Sendmail Mail Filter API (Milter) (development files)
  sendmail-doc - powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent
(documentation)
  sendmail - powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent
(metapackage)
  sendmail-base - powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent (arch
independent files)
  sendmail-cf - powerful, efficient, and scalable Mail Transport Agent (config
macros)

To access further information about this package, please visit the following
URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/sendmail

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/sendmail/sendmail_8.15.2-16.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

   * QA upload.
   * libmilter-dev: Add patch that changes the log level of the log message on
 socket close to DEBUG. (Closes: #945773)
   * libmilter-dev: Add milter.pc metadata file to enable pkg-config support.
 (Closes: #945797)

Regarding #945797, please ignore my previous messages over at the BTS. I
have now learnt Debian packaging basics and have studied the sendmail
build, so I’m now in a better position to propose a patch. I think the
solution here for including a new milter.pc file is quite
straightforward.

Unfortunately there is a bit of noise, because I had to execute the
target refresh-debian-configure in debian/rules to have milter.pc.in
processed properly and included in the build. But the two changes
themselves are small.

Thank you!

I don't know which git repo are you using (doesn't look like the official
Debian repo) but if you are going to break its workflow anyway, you can
just make your package without the git repo at all.

This means you enabled --upstream-vcs-tag= somewhere. Don't do that

That was it. There was a gbp.conf in debian/ that set upstream-vcs-tag.

Note that the following gets around this:

$ gbp import-orig ../heimdal_7.7.0.orig.tar.gz --upstream-vcs-tag=
