Exactly what I do, after uploading the package to mentors.d.n, I am waiting for
the sponsor to analyze the package and, after everything is right, send it to
the salsa repository.

I don't know if I have permission at this point to make my changes to my package
directly through the salsa repository.

I would like to find a link to do the correct procedure for this.

I understand, I will remove the "jag-data" in "Depends:". I am still adapting to
add autopkgtest to my packages.

Sorry, I didn't get it right. Could you help me so I can specify better? :/

In version 0.3.6-1, I removed ">= ${source:Version}" because one of the sponsors
told me that I wouldn't need this because "jag-data" is in the same package as
"jag". When I run "apt install jag", it automatically extracts "jag-data"
normally. But I can add again without any problems. :)

What I learned at the moment, I use more to download via uscan from my GitLab
repository, whenever there is a new version of the software, and I type: "uscan
--force-download" and then "uupdate".

If you have another, more recent way, let me know where to find it so I can
improve myself.

Thanks and see you!

The package already contains "XS-Autobuild: yes" in d/control and also a warning
about "Autobuilding" in d/copyright since the runescape/0.5-2 package that was
not changed in this release[1].

[1]

What I didn't do at the moment was to send an email to
non-f...@buildd.debian.org, which I will do immediately.

Thanks!

Bug#935928: RFS: assaultcube-data/1.2.0.2.1-4 -- data files and documentation for AssaultCube

2019-09-15 Thread Carlos Donizete Froes
Hi Tobias,

I'm a little sad about the progress of the comments, but that's fine, if you
want to fix the package for me, feel free.

Of course, I will not say that I will never contribute to Debian again, because
from time to time other packages I worked with will need to be updated in the
future. :)

This is my first package I would like to adopt and I had difficulty in
"d/control", when an RC appeared in the package, I tried to fix the versions. I
was afraid of receiving even greater criticism.

I continued studying at this link:
https://wiki.debian.org/PackageTransition

> d/watch does not point to upsteam but to your own gitlab clone.
> Please don't do that. You are NOT upstream and repacking is not a valid

> This remark is also true for e.g. d/copyright and d/source/metadata)

The latest version of upstream uses older SDLv1 libraries [0]. But it has an
"experimental" branch where they worked with SDLv2 [1], where I mirrored my
account where I made a 1.2.0.2.1 release [3].

[0] https://github.com/assaultcube/AC/releases/tag/v1.2.0.2

[1] https://github.com/assaultcube/AC/tree/experimental

[2] https://gitlab.com/coringao/assaultcube

I do not know can give problems if the upstream version is the old version.

I can even make changes that you have guided me if it does not cause you
problems.

Cheers!

Bug#939787: RFS: assaultcube/1.2.0.2.1-3 [ITA] -- realistic first-person-shooter

2019-09-12 Thread Carlos Donizete Froes
Hi Tobias,

> This changelog entry does not really make sense / completly unclear.
> Please be more concise. For the breaks+replace:
> the changelog entry should answer the question "Why" not "what", it is
> completly unclear what you want to archieve.

I forgot to complement when I was testing and correcting the package.

The reason for adding Breaks+Replaces is that in the previous package it was:

Breaks: assaultcube-data (<< 1.1.0.4+repack1)
Replaces: assaultcube-data (<< 1.1.0.4+repack1)

As the latest version of the package was "1.1.0.4+repack1-2.1",the
assaultcube-data "1.2.0.2.1-2" package was not found in my tests.

> the mentioned bug is the ITA, you should have closed that with the

> interacting with the BTS.

I understand, this is my first package I want to adopt.

I hope to adopt more packages in the future, fix them and update them.

Thanks!

I see, I did as I was told, separating the 'contrib' and 'non-free'

I kept the old packaging scheme by separating 'assaultcube (contrib) [1]' and
'assaultcube-data (non-free) [2]' without violating copyright.

Please could you analyze my two packages. :)

Cool, I was trying to close this bug, but it wasn't closed. In fact, my

I agree, there was no change in the license, so I left it as it was in the
orphaned package. I just organized 'debian/copyright' by adding all licenses
presented in the game directories.

The game is being mirrored in an 'experimental' branch [1], to be played on
Windows and MacOSX with the updated SDL2 library.

With that, I just removed the directory containing prebuilt Windows binary
sources and some Makefile fixes to create the game binary.

No, this package is the complete game to play. ;)

Exactly, in this case would the game have to be 'non-free' rather than
'contrib'?

2019-07-30 Thread Carlos Donizete Froes
Hi Boyuan Yang,

> While I haven't looked into your package (yet), I do have some questions:

Yes, OK! :)

> how will you handle the situation that source package assaultcube-data also
> provides the binary package assaultcube-data?

I mirrored the upstream game where 'assaultcube-data' would have a directory
containing prebuilt binary Windows fonts that were deleted. Leaving only the
game source files.

> What's the reason of moving it from non-free to main area? If
> assaultcube-data
> is already free, why would it still be in the contrib section?

This was also my question, because each directory and file contained in the game
has different licenses for each author. I need to know with the sponsor who will
see my package.

Thanks!

Bug#923050: RFS: pk2/1.2.1-1 [ITP] -- 2D Oldschool platform game where you control a rooster

2019-02-23 Thread Carlos Donizete Froes
Hi Feri,

> Is the g++ dependency of the main game binary intentional?

The intention I had when adding g++ as dependency on the d/control, because
strangely in the 'armel'
architecture, the game did not compile in my tests. But I can withdraw without
problems. :)

> I built the game for stretch, it went OK (after reducing the debhelper

>
> Also, it tries to create the config directory in

Great observation, I will be correcting this problem and making a new version
immediately.

Thanks!

No, this project has been extracted from the official developer site[1].

Thank you for merging bug reports. I'm still learning to use it, I'm sorry.

In several attempts to get in touch with the developer, the only answer I
received and found on the two official websites[1][2], where the software source
code is "freeware", free of known restrictions.

[1] https://www.cavestory.org/game-info/about-cave-story.php
[2] https://studiopixel.sakura.ne.jp/archives/index.html

Game data is being distributed by the developer from 2004 to the present and
identified as being free from known restrictions under copyright law, including
all related rights and neighbors.[3].

[3] https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/mark/1.0

As long as the original author is mentioned in the software.

Thanks!

Thank you for reviewing the package. This "data/StageMeta" directory
has no commitment to the cavestory-nx project.

This directory was placed just out of curiosity, and I just forgot
to remove it.

Thanks!

I would like the section of this game to be "contrib/games",
but because of this problem I left it as a "non-free/games".

Removed this second paragraph from the copyright.

Many thanks for the tip, and modified according to the instructions.

I'm sorry for my mistakes made with "sponsorship-requests",

I understand, it's a shame that the game data is very obscure in the
part of the license.

I am removing this package from mentors.d.n and also from salsa.d.o

> Frankly, you should only fork for important reasons. Minor changes are not.

I understood in this case, as this my project there are no important
traces to the license on the game data, there is no reason to continue.

I'm getting ready for another game project for Debian. :)

Thanks!

I apologize again for my idiocy in mentors.d.n. :(

It will not be repeated in the next uploads.

Removed the script and symbolic link from Debian-Packaging.

Fixed the installed executable for /usr/share/games.

Moved manpage to directory "data".

I made changes to file deletion in d/rules.

Added the JSON license in d/copyright. Thanks for the sugestion. :D

I added this readme.txt where copied the license comments in the official forum
of the game.

If there is no need to document this, I will remove it from the 'data' directory
and d/copyright.

Yes, I made a fork with this engine where I made minor changes. I've already
mentioned this mechanism in this package.
