2014-09-29 Thread Eriberto
Hi Innocent,

2014-09-28 6:07 GMT-03:00 Innocent De Marchi tangram.pe...@gmail.com:

  2. d/control:
  - Explain me why the package depends of writer and draw to work.

Has no sense to install the package without these two programs. I don't
  know
  if I understand the question...

You put in long description It also allows you to use your favorite
drawing software and include graphs of functions into a document. So,
why install draw compulsorily as dependency? I am trying understand
the package. If using writer, will you need of the draw?

Dmaths is work with Writer and Draw. It does not depend on the two, but some
 of them must be installed.
Perhaps you could do depend on the LibreOffice metapackage.

The solution: 'libreoffice-writer | libreoffice-draw'. The
libreoffice-common can be removed because libreoffice-writer and
libreoffice-draw already depend of the libreoffice-common.

  - Please, create a VCS to control your debian/ versions. You can
use github or other. So, add the Vcs-Browser and Vcs-{Git|Svn|Cvs} to
  d/control.

I want to do this with all my packages, but now I have no time. I don't
practice with Git and will need some time for me to update.

You can use SVN or CVS (or GIT). Sorry but it is an essential
condition for me. GitHub is simple and has several tutorials and
 videos on Internet.

Yes, I understand it, but at this moment I have no time to document to do
this. Perhaps I can do in a few months

No problems. I will wait for you. I have a control to know about the
reviewing stage of the packages.

  5. After the build, there are two wrong independent license files in
  the package:

  usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/DmathsAddon/Fichiers/licence.odt
  usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/DmathsAddon/Fichiers/license.txt

You must add an override_dh_install to d/rules to remove these files ($
  man dh):

  override_dh_install:
  dh_install
  rm -f

  $(CURDIR)/debian/libreoffice-dmaths/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/DmathsAddon/Fichiers/licence.odt
  rm -f

  $(CURDIR)/debian/libreoffice-dmaths/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/DmathsAddon/Fichiers/license.txt

The dmaths has a menu with an option to see the file
  DmathsAddon/Fichiers/licence.odt
If it is deleted, an error occurs when accessing the file. I've added a
  line
to delete the file license.txt to repackage the sources
  (see README.source)

Ok. Please, add comments line in libreoffice-dmaths.lintian-overrides
to explain each issue. I think you will need two lines.

Ok. I will add this comment:
#The licence.odt file is essential for dmaths: dmaths is broken without the
 file.
#Image files can not be installed in another directory: dmaths does not
 support changes.

Ok, add these comments (I didn't see comments in current package).

I saw several Lintian messages in your last upload. A new Lintian was
uploaded today to unstable. May it can help you too:
http://eriberto.pro.br/blog/?p=1289

Yes, I had not updated the pbuilder environment. I have fully reviewed the
 messages.

 Today I updated the package:
 http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/d/dmaths/dmaths_3.5.2.5+dfsg1-1.dsc

I hope that everything is correct!
Thank you very much for your help!

You are welcome. I am glad for help you.

2012-02-09 Thread Innocent De Marchi
Hi Jakub,

I finally found time to actually install the software and play a bit
with it. I have to admit that I am deeply disappointed. I spent maybe
5 minutes and I saw:
- tooltips in French;
- tooltips in German;
- dialog boxes in French;
- *lots* of error messages in French;
- an error box with no message at all (!);
- unhandled exceptions in Basic code.
(Mind you, I don't speak French or German and I've never configured my
system or LibreOffice to use any of these languages.

Yes, indeed in these areas leaves much to be desired...The aim of the
package is to facilitate the writing of mathematical formulas and this
works sufficiently well. The package has a group of followers [0].
I adopt this package when I was an orphan [1], then I discovered already
critical errors [2] (although the package is in Debian since 2008).
With the release of the stable version (Squezee) and the replacement
Open Office to Libre Office, I've just inspected the package in depth.

In these days I've been watching the package more carefully and there
are some issues. The principal is if it's worth packing Libre Office
extensions.

This is not the kind of quality I expect from software that is in
Debian. I am not willing to sponsor this package.

Ok. Thank you for your time and your sincerity. I think about that I do
with this package.

Best regards!

Hi Jakub!

I have reviewed: no reference to them in macros files. I've
deleted them (in the script for repackaging).

Oh, I just realized that they were documentation files installed
into /usr/share/doc/. Well, in that case maybe it's worth keeping
them. (On the other hand they are all in French, so I have no idea how
useful they are.)

In /share/doc/ are not useful for the user: there is no reference to

Hi Jakub,

Good!

Re: RFS: dmaths

Hi Jakub,

s/rule/rules/ in debian/changelog.

I am sorry; I don't understand this phrase

I have a feeling that the new description is not (much) better
than the old one. Could you please ask at
debian-l10n-engl...@lists.debian.org for a review?

OK. I have sent a message to the list
(http://lists.debian.org/debian-l10n-english/2012/01/msg00051.html).
I have changed the description by the suggestion of Justin B Rye.

What does dmaths.patch do? Could add a header to it, e.g. in
DEP-3 format? You probably want to remove the “Binary files …
differ” from the patch, as it obviously cannot be applied
anyway.

The patch removes a window from acceptance of license.I've added the
header and remove the “Binary files … differ”.

Why do you ignore errors from “rm -Rf tmp” in the clean target?

I do not see this command errors. Do mistakes see you?

Your copyright file seems to refer to files that don't exist in
the source package.

I have reviewed and have seen two directories that belonged bad writing.
Have you ever seen something else?

How was the tarball repackaged? There's no get-orig-source
target in debian/rules, and there's no README.source either
(please see Policy §4.14, point 4).

OK. Added file README.source

Lintian emits:
P: dmaths source: unknown-copyright-format-uri
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/dep/web/deps/
dep5.mdwn?op=filerev=135
(Well, lintian probably should have emitted something else. But
the URI _is_ broken, in at least two meanings of this word. :P)

OK. Fixed.

It also emits tons of image-file-in-usr-lib. Is that really
unfixable?

Honestly, not what is. I think that not because of the operation of
the .oxt files. I've watched the OpenOffice documentation but nothing
found.
I are some tests to check whether it is possible.

Why are windows-thumbnail-database-in-package overridden?

There are several Thumbs.db files into icons directories in the
sources. It will be better to remove them from the sources?

Thank you very much for your thorough review of the package.

The revised package is now in debian.mentors
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/d/dmaths/dmaths_3.4.2
