It's definitely an error in the upstream Makefile and we'll try to fix
it.  I can't verify it with a Debian build system but I was able to
reproduce something similar locally on my machine.

We've created https://github.com/mmitch/gbsplay/issues/152 for this issue.

Hi,

GNU Make now has a --shuffle option that simulates non-deterministic ordering
of target prerequisites. See
https://trofi.github.io/posts/238-new-make-shuffle-mode.html and also previous

This package fails to build with make --shuffle=reverse.
