Package: libreoffice

Dear Maintainer,

Current libreoffice in testing does not allow me to open or create a text
document. In both cases I get a dialog with the following message:

Component cannot be loaded, possibly broken or incomplete installation.
loading component library failed:
file:///usr/lib/libreoffice/program/../program/libswlo.so

The file is present:

jlquinn@cerberus:~$ ls -l /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/../program/libswlo.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 18468416 Aug 2 15:05
/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/../program/libswlo.so

I also purged and reinstalled libreoffice to no avail.

Bug#728792: libreoffice-nlpsolver: nlpsolver cannot be used in LibreOffice Calc - Error: The status of this extension is unknown

2015-10-23 Thread Graham Inggs
Hi Maintainer

I was able to reproduce the 'Error: The status of this extension is
unknown' message on a system where libreoffice-java-common was not
installed.

I think libreoffice-nlpsolver needs a Depends on libreoffice-java-common.

Graham

Your message to the BTS, Message-ID:

added a specific “found” field without further elaboration, so I
inferred that you had confirmed the bug in that version of the
package.

I have no other basis for adding that “confirmed” tag, feel free to
remove it if it doesn't apply. (In the absence of more information
from the submitter, adding a “moreinfo” tag would also be appropriate.)

What makes you think this?

Maybe confirmed that it starts if unorc is missing, the question is _why_
it goes missing.

I did the following:

1) cowbuilder --login to a stable chroot
1a) apt-get install debsums apt-show-versions vim
2) apt-get install libreoffice
3) add backports, apt-get update
4) apt-get -t jessie-backports install libreoffice

5) remove backports, apt-get update
6) apt-get install `apt-show-versions | grep -v uptodate | cut -d" " -f2 | cut
-d: -f1 | sed -e "s, ,/stable ,g"`

all unorcs are there and reported OK by debsums.

Wookey, how did you do the downgrade?

Regards,

Rene

Ditto on a different machine (same libreoffice version).

Note: by "doesn't show the document", I mean that nothing is drawn in

This was in 2012.. more than 3 years ago.

The version of the package was 3.5.0-2
Actual version is 5.0.3-rc

You can close the bug if you want everything is now irrelevant.

No further information was reported here on whether this bug still
exists. The latest found version is now earlier than any supported
Debian release.

I am closing this bug report as unreproducible. If any reader can
reproduce this bug behaviour in a current LibreOffice package in
Debian, please re-open this report or start a new one.

Bug#681741: libreoffice: install LibreOffice creates user config directory owned by ‘root’

2015-10-23 Thread Gedalya

Can you expand on what that statement means? Does this mean the steps
to reproduce do not reliably cause the bug behaviour for you either?
It was a sarcastic response to the maintainer's overall unfriendly
attitude, specifically him directly accusing me of lying.

At the time I was able to reproduce this quite consistently.
However this is an ancient bug report. I have since installed a Debian
desktop with LibreOffice on quite a number of machines and this issue
hasn't been happening.

I have created a new Base document:

* Open LibreOffice.
* Invoke “Base Database” to create a new document.
* Select “Create a new database”, select “Finish”.
* In the “Save” dialogue, select a new name “test.odb”, select “Save”.

This invokes the “LibreOffice Basic Macros” dialogue.

The new document does not have any macros. I am not able to follow
your steps any further, I think.

Can you construct a simple document – only what is needed to reproduce
this bug behaviour – and attach it to this bug report?

But what happens, does some error occur? When, and what does the exact
message say?

Please use ‘reportbug’ to follow up, so that the package information
is collected for the exact version and environment of LibreOffice
where you observe this behaviour.

Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading libreoffice to 1:3.5.2-4+b1 the formerly functional
integration with hunspell as the spellchecking engine fails.

Spellchecking functionality may be recovered by installing myspell-

That is the latest reported version for this bug, and it remains
unreproducible for the maintainers.

(A subsequent discussion on this bug report by a different user was
discovered not to be a bug at all, so does not relate to the described
behaviour.)

Since the latest reported version is now earlier than any supported
Debian release, and no further information to reproduce the bug was
reported here, I am closing this bug report.

Johannes, if you are able to supply steps to reliably reproduce this
behaviour in a current LibreOffice package in Debian, please re-open
this report or start an new one.

Thank you for continuing to verify the behaviour. When following up,
please specify the exact *package version* you're now running that
exhibits the bug behaviour.

You can use the ‘reportbug’ tool for reporting, and following up to
bug reports. It can collect this information automatically for the
message.

Great! Thank you for giving a simple example for us to work with.

Using ‘Halloween Dance tickets (bleed).odt’, I am not seeing the
behaviour you describe. This is perhaps because the Writer document
does not make use of the Calc document; it doesn't attempt to fill any
for feeds when I print it.

So when I try to print the example Writer document, it prints just one
page and doesn't exhibit the behaviour you described originally.

Can you construct another simple example and follow up with the
information requested above? That example, when we download and print
it, should exhibit the behaviour you describe.

This bug certainly existed for many people in 2011 and 2012. It only
ever was reported in LibreOffice 3.4.3 packages, though, which is now
earlier than any supported release of Debian. No further information
appeared on this bug report for any subsequent version.

I am closing this report as fixed in current Debian packages of
LibreOffice. If anyone has a similar problem in current LibreOffice
packages in Debian, please feel free to open this or a new bug report.

Thank you to all Debian users who gave detailed information for this
bug report.

The request for more information, or to switch this information to
another bug report, has been open since 2011 without resolution.

I am closing this old bug report as it does not have enough specific
information to be diagnosed.

This bug was not reproducible by the maintainer.

Bob, are you able to reliably produce this behaviour in any current
LibreOffice package in Debian?

Please follow up to this bug report with either information to
reproduce the bug behaviour, or a version you have confirmed does not
have the bug. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for providing a sequence of steps to reproduce the
behaviour. You said:

When the maintainer reported back that following these steps did not
result in the reported behaviour, you responded:

Can you expand on what that statement means? Does this mean the steps
to reproduce do not reliably cause the bug behaviour for you either?

Nah, it was meant as adding that version based on Wookeys

"I am running the jessie version. libreoffice was working fine, thenI
tried upgrading to the 1:5.0.2-1~bpo8+1 in jessie-backports, [...]
carefully downgrading everything back to the jessie versions"

so 1:5.0.2-1 (bpo is not handled/relevant in this BTS, so I took the
version it is based on) is "in the game". in whatever way.

It's good that you now have a working application. Without the
problematic configuration, though, it seems there is no way for the
maintainer to diagnose this bug.

I'll leave it up to you to decide what to do with this; there's
something missing in the upgrade code, but what...

The only way I can see it makes sense for this bug report to remain
open is if there is some information that can be given to the
maintainer to help reproduce the behaviour.

If you no longer have that and can't send it, I'll ask that you please
close this report as unreproducible.

I still have the old configuration directory; if René is interested I
can check there's nothing sensitive there and send him a tarball.
