But you are the second one only (and the first one in Debian at all) to
report it since November...

No idea if it is a generic problem, but we ran into it on two different
machines, one yesterday and one today, when we decided to migrate the
two machines to bullseye, so it is not a very rare problem. :)

Hrmpf. I tried various buster upgrades when I moved the files and it simply
worked... (Even in a VM with GNOME, KDE, whatever installed. But maybe
that changes order so that it works.).

Ubuntu reported this some days ago, too, but as said never saw it myself.

I think if it was a generic problem this would have been reported LOOONG
go:

libreoffice (1:6.4.0~beta1-2) experimental; urgency=medium

  * debian/control*in, debian/*.lintian-overrides: fix some minor lintian
stuff after the library splitout
  * debian/control.test-packages.in, debian/rules: move smoketest.jar into
libreoffice-smoketest-data
  * debian/control.in, debian/rules, debian/libreoffice-base.p*.in:
simplify and revert diversion of AccessBase basic stuff.
  * debian/libreoffice-common.docs, debian/libreoffice-common.doc-base,
debian/patches/add-access2base-doc.diff: install
www.access2base.com/access2base.html into libreoffice-common as doc

Bug#956450: libreoffice-common: Upgrade fail because of Application.xba file conflict with libreoffice-base

2020-04-11 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Package: libreoffice-common
Version: 1:6.4.2-3
Severity: serious

Setting RC severity because this break 'apt dist-upgrade' and leave the
machine in a problematic state. Did not find an existing report, but
might have missed one among the pile in bts.

Upgrading a KDE desktop from from buster to bullseye using 'apt
dist-upgrade' fail because apt aborts halfway in the process when trying
to unpack libreoffice-common version 1:6.4.2-3 over version
1:6.1.5-3+deb1@u5, because the new package contain the file
/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/basic/Access2Base/Application.xba which is
also in the package libreoffice-base 1:6.1.5-3+deb1@u5.

Not sure which one of these packages have this problem, but found it
best to report the issue anyway.

Missing breaks/replaces?
