As a general answer: we might (and in the past we did), but we really
prefer if such change was done at the top of the upstream (although it
may not be easy in some case to identify such upstream).

The spelling dictionary (hunspell) for US English and Canadian English
is provided by this other package: https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/scowl
- so it's not maintained by us. See http://wordlist.aspell.net/ for the
upstream project.
Also for that, I recommend you try to first get your change in that
upstream project, and then try to get the src:scowl maintainer to update
the package, unfortunately Don is not particularly active in package
maintenance…

Hope that's of help to you,

edits to dictionaries?

2019-10-19 Thread Ray Andrews

Hi,

Do you guys accept edits to the dictionaries?  For example the Canadian
English dictionary is missing 'asymptote' but the US English dictionary
has it.  I come across missing words quite often and I'd be happy to
keep you informed.
