I compiled 1.1.4-5 with -O2 as described in this bug, and it the
resulting OO seems to work fine.
Was there a specific reason why you dropped the plan to make this change
in the OO packages?

OO works for me with libcurl3-gnutls without any problems, and it
would be one less package depending on libcurl3 (that implied some

I've backported OpenOffice.org 1.0.2 to woody and added these packages
to a larger collection of packages I do maintain [1].
Notes regarding these packages:
- they are compiled using a backported gcc 3.2.1
- as a workaround for the problem with the same file in several
packages each open
