I've made some further adjustments for a few reasons: - many replies don't use the correct thread ID from the URL and so the messages are not being threaded - in some cases students were simply replying to other students' messages on the list, not even for the same project that was in the thread Overall, I feel that this would have been really good if the threading worked (because mentors can then opt out of the threads they don't want) but as it hasn't worked like that in practice I'm not going to continue asking students to introduce themself this way. On a positive note, the message subject lines made it easier to filter and the body template embedded in the URL appears to work quite well and maybe that is something other mentors will want to copy. I've done a similar thing for the links on the Reimbursement[1] page. Does anybody else have feedback about how this worked/didn't work or how to improve it?
