I have tried too to put /dev/hdc instead /dev/cdrom.
my machine is an old Powerbook G3 wallstreet at 350 Mhz

Precisely. If you really need to change media while the emulator is
running, mount them on the Linux side and use netatalk to export them
to the MacOS side.
