The issue originally reported by Riccardo

Graphics (Xorg, wdm and xfce) work in Debian 7.8 with kernel 5.13.2. So
I'm not sure whether I'm looking for a kernel issue or an Xorg (or wdm)

RUB on the Apple_Bootstrap partition directly (e.g. after

the partition was not a partition of type PReP.

Recent kernels (starting around 6.4) have made it progressively more
difficult to predict disk ordering on the PowerMac MDD G4. My system has
four disks, two on the 100 MHz bus and two on the 66 MHz bus:
100 MHz bus:
master - should be sda
slave - should be sdb, often is seen as
here may be an issue
with "CONFIG_KFENCE", which seem to be expanded in vmlinux-6.5.0-1-powerpc*.
I haven't tried the latest Debian kernel on any other PowerMac systems,
though I can check on G3 and G5 if that would be useful.
