If you can isolate the full command invoked then that will likely help.

Perhaps simply try invoke this from the commandline: ps2pdf your-file

Can you provide a sample EPS file for others to try reproduce?

This is most likely an upstream issue, and I expect upstream to ask for 
the ability to reproduce both to be able to inspect the problem and also 
to be able to include it in their massive regression test pool - so if 
possible for you to share a breaking input file that would help a lot.
