Adding the ppd packages brings new printer model selections in printer
 database.

However, these selections do not work.

HP LaserJet 6P/6MP - PostScript (en)
just junks whatver is sent to it.

HP LaserJet 6P/6MP - PostScript PostScript (recommended) (en)
prints the postscript source on the paper without interpreting it.

Hi Michal, and thanks for your bugreport,

currently, the recommended driver [0,1] for those drivers is the hplip
driver. Does it work if you use this driver ?

Thanks in advance, cheers,

OdyX

Hi Michal, and thanks for your bugreport,

This is a postscript printer so a postscript driver should work and
use the least resources.

However, I am using the Gutenprint driver in absence of any saner
working driver.

Using hplip which was made for Inkjets with an ancient PostScript/PCL
printer seems somewhat odd but if the driver suffers from severe
feature creep it might work as well.

Thanks

Michal
