Hi to Everyone,

Canon iX6850 on Debian Stretch. CUPS 2.2.1, installed using cnijfilter -ix6800series-4.10-1-deb

I bought it 1n 2017. It worked pretty well upto a few days ago. At least 5,000 A4 prints, maybe 100 A3, small and large photos as well. Was installed on my LAN router (Internet Livebox). Ink tanks have been replaced quite a few times.

3 days ago, it started printing very slowly, I mean, print starts for a few lines, then stops for maybe 30sec, then restarts, and so on up to the end. Each time it pauses, the Resume Button flashes 3 times... which would seem to indicate that the problem lies in a page that would stick in its way out... but I tend not to believe such a diagnostic, since nothing seems stuck. I would rather suppose that for some unknown reason (maybe a poor connection, or internal memory not cleared...) printing pauses for a while, which results in the lagging of a sheet, which in turns generates this error code.

In any case, after a number of various trials, it happened a few times that the printer resumed working normally at regular speed... which benefit would only last until next shutdown ; At subsequent re-start, it would generally behave the slow way again.

Test that I've done :

- Reinstalling several times the printer using same cnijfilter -ix6800series as before, using in turn USB cable and LAN connexion : the results were the same as before, either on LAN or USB.

- Testing this printer with another computer : a laptop operating Ubuntu 14.04, with exactly the same results either on cable or on LAN, same as operating with my desktop running Debian Stretch. I have deleted printers using CUPS, reinstalled those re-generated using cnijfilter... Cancelled all jobs etc...

I must say that, whatever it prints, at whatever printing speed, the results always are perfect as far as texts and images. Test pages generated by CUPS seem faultless

Thanks in advance for your help

Bernard
