Maybe it's best to invest a bit of time into updating it rather than
dropping it just for the sake of its low

The maintainer (jenner) seems MIA (even if not declered officially by
the mia team), nobody in the DPMT stepped up maintaining it in the last
10 years, and packaging a new upstream release that is out since at
least 2009.
