Recent versions of git-buildpackage should no longer call debian/rules clean IIRC. But you can disable this with: [DEFAULT] cleaner = /bin/true in ~/.gbp.conf Alternatively you can build with "--git-ignore-new" too. > Also django-migrate-south won't work without virtualenv installed. It doesn't have a manpage, it's a temporary hack, etc. I would put the script in the doc directory and I would document to run it as: sh /usr/share/doc/python-django/migrate-south --settings app.settings Then it's more logical to not change the dependencies and just document (as you did) the need to install virtualenv.
