Unfortunately my attempt to add an autopkgtest failed. In case you might have some spare minute it might be helpful to rename debian/tests/_control and fix the test. It appears that something is going horribly wrong with the test egg generation (which is now being done upstream automatically). Pushed a fix to salsa for that issue.
