I would like to join the Python team to help maintain various packages
mostly related to Django. I am currently the maintainer for Django in
Ubuntu, and can help packages keep up to date with version transitions
such as Django 4.0 in both operating systems.

I would like to join the Debian Python Team. My salsa handle is 
"mguenther" (the account is still pending approval).


The reason why I would like to join the team is to maintain the
"pass-git-helper" package, which is currently up for adoption [1]. 
Jochen Sprickerhof (jspri...@debian.org) will transfer the package to 
the DPT and sponsor me.

I'd say post upload requests to the debian-mentors lists, or patches to bugs.
There's a freeze coming up soon, so RC bugs are especially valuable to
fix.

I'm afraid this path often isn't easy. It's definitely one of Debian's
weaker areas, but with good work and persistence you should be able to
get some uploads done.

I am a retired DD that is planning to rejoin and am looking to join the
debian-python team for the purpose of maintaining some new Debian
packages. At the moment, this is the Octave kernel for the Jupyter
notebook and related packages/dependencies (like metakernel).

Definitely would appreciate any feedback / suggestions / tips on these
packages.
