I just installed offline imap for the first time to sync my local IMAP
account with my Gmail account (I also want to upload messages to
Gmail).
During one of the runs, I just got this error:

The same problem is seen in Ubuntu on a range of architectures
including armel and sparc. The upstream source contains an aliasing
related bug that can be worked around by setting -fno-strict-aliasing
in CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS.
The problem should also be fixed upstream.
