Bug#624383: apt-build: Ignores --remove-builddep option
Package: apt-build Version: 0.12.38 Severity: normal It seems that apt-build does not clean up after itself as it should when\ specifying the --remove-builddep option. I ran the following: apt-build --remove-builddep --rebuild --reinstall install wget It then installed the build dependencies autotools-dev debhelper html2text info2man libssl-dev However, they remained installed after apt-build had finished building and installing wget. I had to purge them manually using "dpkg --purge ...". Bug#622444: marked as done (libxml++: Getting rid of unneeded *.la / emptying dependency_libs)

In most cases, the .la file(s) can simply be removed as the process behind this MBF has already identified that there are no further dependencies using the .la file. In the unusual case that your package uses libltdl directly, it is still necessary to empty the dependency_libs part of all .la files remaining in the package. Once libxml++ is fixed, the process will repeat and other packages which you maintain may need to be fixed in turn. It is important that packages are fixed in sequence to avoid FTBFS bugs. If you believe that your package needs both the .la file and the dependency_libs settings, please raise this on debian-devel for clarification. -- Neil Williams = codeh...@debian.org http://www.linux.codehelp.co.uk/ --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Source: libxml++ Source-Version: 1.0.4-4 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of libxml++, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: libxml++1.0-dev_1.0.4-4_amd64.deb to main/libx/libxml++/libxml++1.0-dev_1.0.4-4_amd64.deb libxml++1.0-doc_1.0.4-4_all.deb to main/libx/libxml++/libxml++1.0-doc_1.0.4-4_all.deb libxml++1.0c2a_1.0.4-4_amd64.deb to main/libx/libxml++/libxml++1.0c2a_1.0.4-4_amd64.deb libxml++_1.0.4-4.debian.tar.gz to main/libx/libxml++/libxml++_1.0.4-4.debian.tar.gz libxml++_1.0.4-4.dsc to main/libx/libxml++/libxml++_1.0.4-4.dsc A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
