Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build

This is most likely caused by a change in dpkg 1.22.6, that enabled
-Werror=implicit-function-declaration. For more information, see

Last (the only) upstream upload 2001, last maintainer upload 2001, orphaned
since 2007. The upstream doesn't seem to exist anymore. While the description
says "it is used as helper in sylpheed mailer", sylpheed actually dropped it in
2003.
Currently FTBFS with -Werror=implicit-function-declaration.

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build
on amd64.

This is most likely caused by a change in dpkg 1.22.6, that enabled
-Werror=implicit-function-declaration. For more information, see
https://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS#A2024-03-13_-Werror.3Dimplicit-function-declaration

The proper fix would be to rewrite all related code to stop using gets(),
but this is a dead library with no revdeps so I requested an RM instead.

Hi,

This is due to

> dh_installdocs: error: Cannot find (any matches for) "doc/Esnacc.pdf"
(tried in .)

which is due to

(cd /home/rene/esnacc-1.8.1/doc && unzip eSNACCManuals.zip &&
libreoffice --headless --convert-to pdf Esnacc.doc)

Archive: eSNACCManuals.zip
  inflating: EsnaccOriginalMaterial.doc
  inflating: Esnacc.doc
Warning: failed to launch javaldx - java may not function correctly
Error: source file could not be loaded

(the last message is it, the javaldx warning is harmless)

failing.

Which is due to a bug in libreoffice which is fixed by

libreoffice (4:24.2.0-2) experimental; urgency=medium

  * debian/patches/sw-do-not-require-cui.diff: do not require cui in
sw, from

upstream (closes: #1058653)

which is fixed but (well, it's followers) are held up by the time_t
transition. (So this bug is not there anymore when building in sid)

Workaround (as other packages did) is to build-deped on
libreoffice-writer for now (instead of libreoffice-writer-nogui).

Or just wait until said fix is in testing (whenever that may be)

Regards,

Rene

Bug#1066970: FTBFS: error: implicit declaration of function 'InitNibbleMem' [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration]

[...]

This is most likely caused by a change in dpkg 1.22.6, that enabled
-Werror=implicit-function-declaration. For more information, see
https://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS#A2024-03-13_-Werror.3Dimplicit-function-declaration

Indeed a build with export DEB_BUILD_MAINT_OPTIONS=qa=-bug-implicit-func
works. But better than disabling it would be to fix it of course ;)

Rene
