Bug#1066994: Removed package(s) from unstable
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following package(s) have been removed from unstable: libjconv | 2.8-7 | source libjconv-bin | 2.8-7 | riscv64 libjconv-bin | 2.8-7+b1 | amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, mips64el, ppc64el, s390x libjconv-dev | 2.8-7 | riscv64 libjconv-dev | 2.8-7+b1 | amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, mips64el, ppc64el, s390x libjconv2 | 2.8-7 | riscv64 libjconv2 | 2.8-7+b1 | amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, mips64el, ppc64el, s390x --- Reason --- RoQA; orphaned; dead upstream; RC-buggy; leaf library -- Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug. The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next dinstall run at the earliest. Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is really needed, please contact them if this should be the case. We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package. Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you have further comments please address them to 1066...@bugs.debian.org. The full log for this bug can be viewed at https://bugs.debian.org/1066994 This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is a problem with it please contact the archive administrators by mailing ftpmas...@ftp-master.debian.org. To replicate: $ gcc /usr/share/doc/libpc1-dev/examples/cobench.c -lpcl --> produces working executable. $ ldd ./a.out libpcl.so.1 => /usr/lib/libpcl.so.1 (0x4001e000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40029000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x4000) gcc /usr/share/doc/libpc1-dev/examples/cobench.c -lpcl -lpthread --> produces failing executable. $ ldd ./a.out libpcl.so.1 => /usr/lib/libpcl.so.1 (0x4001e000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x40029000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40083000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x4000) The reason why this is an issue is that I have an application which uses coroutines, but not pthreads, which wants to link to the sqlite library. When sqlite was built, it was done so with its threading support enabled; which means that it tries to call mutex primitives in the pthreads library. This means that linking an application against libsqlite will implicitly pull in libpthread, which then causes it to fail. This actually sounds suspiciously similar to a problem I previously encountered on the i386, Debian bug 339827. To summarise: on i386 when running a sufficiently old kernel that does not have thread-local storage, the threading library figures out which thread is running by the location of the stack pointer. If the application has allocated a user stack, it fails to cope and crashes. This means that calling any thread-safe function which needs to know what the calling thread is will fail when it is called from any user stack. The only workaround I've got for this is to recompile sqlite without threading support, which is painful. Bug#1067658: Update source link to package recent software version
Package: wondershaper Version: 1.1a-10.1 Severity: normal Justification: Source homepage not updated, then software not updated Dear Maintainer: Due to obsolete source link, this package is not being updated to current project's version: 1.4.1 "Wonder Shaper is a script that allows the user to limit the bandwidth of one or more network adapters. It does so by using iproute's tc command, but greatly simplifies its operation. Wonder Shaper was first released by Bert Hubert in 2002, but the original version lacked a command-line interface, from on version 1.2 this feature was added. From version 1.3, the HTB queuing is used instead of CBQ, allowing better bandwidth management on high speed (above ten megabits) links. In version 1.4 an improved ingress shaping method was implemented and the ability to limit either down or up (both is still possible too)" https://github.com/magnific0/wondershaper/ Debian source link should be updated, to get the latest package's changes + Please update your e-mail address on package details. -- Regards, Narcis Garcia __ I'm using this dedicated address because personal addresses aren't masked enough at this tracker archive.
